American scientists have advanced a step closer to developing a successful treatment regimen for cancer. High concentration of vitamin D in the blood improves the prognosis of breast cancer - these data were obtained during the study, carried out the day before.
In sum, scientists studied the issue for nine years, and in the study involved four thousand women are diagnosed with breast cancer. Women were divided into two groups. The first group included patients with a high content of vitamin D (active form) in the second group were women with low vitamin.
Research has shown that increased amounts of vitamin D in the blood improves survival in breast cancer twice. Based on these data, the researchers argue that this vitamin is involved in protein synthesis, inhibiting the division of cancer cells. This is why supplementation of vitamin D is so important in cancer.
