UN high-level meeting on noncommunicable diseases prevention

September 20, there will be a meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations to discuss issues of prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases. All four main non-communicable diseases - cancer, chronic lung disease, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease kill every fifth person in the world. In developing countries dying from these diseases consistently high percentage of the population.

Meeting of the UN - a chance for the international community to take measures to strengthen the health of the population and to save thousands of lives.

The meeting on the issues of prevention will focus sotsialno-economic opportunities in developing countries.

The world Health Organization conducted a regional consultation of the government of the States members of the United Nations and helps to contribute to the discussion by identifying related noncommunicable diseases problems in their countries.
