A group of researchers from Oxford University have found that previous knowledge regarding the expansion of the Universe is not true.
At the end of the last century, collecting data from the Hubble space telescope and ground-based instruments, the scientists came to the conclusion that the universe is expanding at an accelerated rate. For this discovery in 2011, scientists received the Nobel prize.
At the moment information on the speed of expansion of the Universe questioned. Further study, analysis of the array of information about 740 supernova stars showed that the expansion rate may be significantly slower than previously thought.
Note, the merits of scientists, who received the award under doubt nobody puts. Their theory is completely true, but the rate of expansion is the question that should work.
