Specialists from Yale University (USA) found that the solar radiation damages the skin even after cessation of exposure. In some cases, the sun can cause DNA mutations.
Scientists were irradiated skin cells by ultraviolet light. It was found that the rays of the spectrum lead to DNA mutations and defects, called pyrimidine dimers. A large gathering of damaged cells can develop skin cancer.
However, this science knows is not the first year. The opening of experts from Yale University, is the following: these mutations are formed after cessation of exposure to ultraviolet radiation spectrum. The sun's rays are the initiator complex reactions leading to genetic mutations.
Researchers are advised to reduce the time of exposure to the sun and to use special equipment that protects the skin while tanning. To exceed the amount of ultraviolet irradiation is not necessary.
