German scientists have determined that the use in food supplements with calcium may contribute to myocardial infarction.
The study was conducted in Germany by a group of scientists from the cancer research center. The results of this study published in the journal Heart.
The study involved about 24 thousand people in the age group 35 to 64 years. A group of researchers conducted a follow-up continued for 11 years. During the whole 11-year-old was held this study. A comparison was made of the number of myocardial infarction among participants who consumed calcium supplements and those who did without supplemental calcium.
Supplements in the study group was not used 16 thousand people. In this group the number of reported attacks amounted to 850 cases. And among users of Supplements with calcium was recorded at 86 percent more violations in cardiac activity, that is 140%.
