Researchers at the National Institute of child health and human development, the U.S. found a correlation between family wealth and level of intelligence in the child. As it turned out, poverty can lower IQ in the process of development of the baby.
In total the study involved 50,000 children from families of varying income levels. Scientists observed their mental development compared with the results obtained with total salary in the family.
According to the results, more than 20% of those who come from poor families to seven years encountered the first manifestations of neurological disorders. Children from wealthy families, this figure was 10%, which is two times lower. Perhaps this is due to bad habits of parents with low earnings. It is proved that in poor families women smoke more than the rich.
