The opinion of Australian scientists: 5 cups of coffee a day is bad for health

Experts from the University of Western Australia and from the medical research Institute of Western Australia concluded that drinking 5 or more cups of coffee a day man exposes himself to great risk of developing obesity, even if it is decaffeinated. Scientists have found that drinking five cups of coffee daily twice doubles the amount of fat located in the abdominal cavity. This type of fat is called visceral and is mortally dangerous, as it tends to envelop the internal organs, disrupt their function and metabolism, and cause the development of serious diseases.

His research Australian scientists conducted on rodents. In the experiment, they gave mice a coffee in the amount equivalent to its content in five cups, according to Firstpost. In this case the negative effect of coffee is due to high content of chlorogenic acid, a small dose which is beneficial to health, such as prevention of diabetes. Meanwhile, high doses of chlorogenic acid lead to abdominal obesity and other problems connected with health.

Research work has shown that mice that scientists were given coffee in large doses, were marked glucose intolerance and insulin resistance, which could lead to diabetes. Thus, Australian scientists recommend drinking coffee in moderate amounts.
