The Internet helps the elderly to combat depression - scientists

American researchers from Michigan state University of telecommunications, information studies and media conducted a study, which found that the Internet is a great way to combat depression among older people.

New technologies allow us not to feel alone, to keep in touch with friends and family, find new friends. This network enables remote communication, which is important for older people.

Scientists believe that among pensioners who regularly use the Internet, the chance of developing depression below a third. Data were established during the social survey of three thousand respondents of older age.

But doctors warned that a large amount of time spent at the computer, invariably affects health, especially when it comes to the elderly.
