The communication between doctor and patient in the Internet negatively affects the course of treatment

Scientists from the U.S. study was able to establish that the relationship between doctor and patient in social networks prevents the normal course of treatment. On this occasion, the American College of physicians published a special report, which concerns the ethics of the physician's work in the world wide web. The report published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.

Experts believe that doctors should clearly hold the line between personal and professional relationships while communicating on the Internet. In addition, doctors were recommended to minimize online communication with their patients. Also, doctors are advised to keep track of patient information in the Network, because in this way they can undermine the confidence of the patient to himself, which, in turn, may adversely affect the course of treatment.
