Research group of the University of California conducted a study of level of stress hormone in volunteers under different conditions. The first group every day three times a day, drank sweet tea, and the second was used as a drink sweetener aspartame.
Volunteers in the second phase of the study conducted MRI diagnostics of the brain, measured the level of cortisol, a stress hormone. Next, the participants of the experiment proposed to pass a math test increased complexity.
Cortisol levels in the group who consumed three times a day tea with sugar, was much lower than that of volunteers, replacing sugar with aspartame. Sweet tea, scientists believe, normalizes the nervous system and helps the body cope with stress. However, frequent consumption of sugary drinks with flour increases the risk of diabetes. Forget about it is not worth it.
