Small portions of dark chocolate improve your mood, talk to experts from Swinburne University of Technology (Australia). A number of substances included in the composition of the cocoa beans act directly on the brain of man and his intellectual abilities.
In total the study involved 72 volunteers. They were offered for one month every day to drink chocolate drink with different concentration of polyphenols, the active compounds contained in cocoa. The number of substances varied from zero to 500 mg.
Scientists noticed a significant improvement in the mood among volunteers receiving regular portion of 500 mg of polyphenols. They feel happier and more confident.
Today it is difficult to give an answer to the question, how chocolate affects the brain functions. Apparently, there is a complex relationship between sweet and the work of the human nervous system.
