Stroke increases the risk of cancer - scientists

Experts from the Zeenat Qureshi Stroke Institute (Minnesota, USA) established: after a stroke patients increases the risk of developing cancer. To such conclusion scientists came when analyzing data 3,2 thousands of people over the age of 35 years. Each treatment group had a stroke.

After a stroke, the risk of cancer increases by a factor of 1.2. After two years, the probability jumps to 1.4 times, says study author Dr. Malik Adil.

Over time, the risk of tumor process among people with stroke may increase up to three times higher.

Stroke is a serious disease associated with cerebral blood flow and death of brain cells resulting hemorrhage or ischemia. The risk factors for stroke researchers are age, diabetes, Smoking, heart disease and other pathologies.
