The chances of men dying from sudden cardiac death (SCD) is higher than in women, three times. About every tenth man and every third woman is at risk. Basically heart failure develops in people older than 70 years, tell the experts from northwestern University. They conducted a survey of 5,200 patients clinics aged 28-62 years. The results tells the newspaper The Times of India.
During scientific work, scientists have recorded 475 cases of sudden cardiac death. The main predisposing factors the researchers took Smoking, diabetes and high cholesterol.
According to information gathered, the risk of SCD in men at age 45 is about 11%, while women in the same age – only 3%. The main risk factor scientists have identified arterial hypertension. It mostly is the cause of cardiac death.
