Scientists: the human brain is a map of social connections

Scientists from Ikan medical school found in the human brain region responsible for maintaining social relations, it is in the hippocampus. That way the same region helps with orientation in space, determines the degree of closeness with another person, says Zee News.

In the experiment, the volunteers were asked to video games, during which they filmed the activity of the hippocampus participants. With high activity of hippocampal subjects better remembered the game's plot and relationships between the characters. The brain, according to scientists, created a three-dimensional network of social ties.

The discovery could shed light on the development of autism, depression, schizophrenia and other mental disorders. Note, on the eve of scientists from Brunel University proved that people with autism find it hard to communicate because of problems with the perception of movements.
