Scientists: salt does not affect human health

The specialists of Columbia University has denied one of the most common myths in the field of medicine. A recent study proves that the salt does not bear any harm to human health. This reports the New York Post, citing the results of scientific work.

Many doctors say that the amount of consumed salt should be reduced to an optimal minimum. An excess of this substance leads to increased blood pressure and can trigger a heart attack. In some countries even has a law requiring restaurants to indicate the salt content in each of the dishes.

A recent study suggests that reducing salt intake does not heal the human body without diseases of the cardiovascular system. From Chur salty foods should be discontinued only under constant high blood pressure.
