Scientists: one in four children were bullied on the Internet

Social network for the younger generation have become a way of expressing their personality. Sometimes children are absorbed by online relationships are stronger than adults. Scientists from the University of Alberta and centre of excellence in the maintenance of mental health in children and adolescents in Ottawa warn parents: bullying of children on the Internet is quite a common thing.

The researchers analyzed the results of 36 studies and found a direct link between depression, low self-esteem in children, drug addiction and cyberbullying. According to statistics, 95% of Teens use the Internet, 85% of them are active users of social networks.

Every fourth child at least once faced intimidation in the Internet. The researchers believe in the seriousness of the problem and advise parents to control the virtual lives of their children.
