The study involved 54 children. The age of the subjects ranged from 6 to 17 years. The researchers monitored the children during the year. The first group of volunteers ate slowly, the second with his usual speed. The results the researchers compared with the control group.
Thorough mastication is possible to reduce the weight in the first group 2-5,7% in just six months. A year after the start of the experiment the figure could reach five percent. The volunteers from the second group of weight, however, increased during the year by 8-12%.
