The average sleep duration for the body is worse than none. So say researchers from the University of Pennsylvania. In one of the latest experiments they concluded that the ideal sleep should last for four or less, or more than eight hours.
Of course, a full night's sleep is possible only after a relatively long sleep. A study involving 48 people has shown that performance is improved after an 8-hour sleep and is reduced after sleeping 6 hours. The cognitive abilities of the volunteers who slept 6 hours were even lower than those who had refused the night's sleep.
