A study by American scientists proves that the heart of men and women are aging at different rates and by different mechanisms. This writes the Radiology.
"As we age, the shape of the heart changes for women and men, but these changes go completely different ways. So the heart of men becomes heavier and holds less blood, while the heart of the opposite sex that does not happen. Now we often talk about personalized medicine, and this opening is an example of why experts in different ways have to come to cardiac problems opposite" - says one of the researchers of Johns Hopkins University.
In men, the heart increases with age in size, increased wall thickness. Among women, these processes are expressed not so strongly. Therefore, doctors in the survey may incorrectly interpret the results in relation to the weaker sex.
