Scientists have told us how much to sleep, to sleep

Sleep is a matter of purely individual. Someone needs 9-10 hours daily in order to feel relaxed, someone can sleep and for 4-5 hours. There are recommendations that adults need about seven hours of sleep per night, children should sleep more.

Researchers from the National society for the study of sleep told, how many hours of sleep you need at different ages. "For the first time scientists have painted detailed recommendations, many people need to sleep, depending on age," says Professor Harvard medical school Charles Czeisler.

Most sleep should newborn babies. Older people need about 7-8 hours. According to statistics, every third working person sleeps a maximum of six hours. Chronic sleep deprivation is a serious problem that can damage the whole body. It is known that lack of sleep leads to an increased risk of developing diabetes, depression and cancer.

Age norms sleep:

Newborns (0 to 4 months) - 14-17 hours

Children children age 4 to 11 months) - 12-15 hours

Children 1-2 years old - 11-14 hours

Children from 3 to 5 years 10-13 hours

Students in primary and secondary grades 9-11 hours

Teens - 8-10 hours

Adults up to 64 years) - 7-9 hours
