Have long known that coffee is wonderfully invigorating in the morning, but recent research has established that besides coffee copes with the symptoms of hangover after an exciting night. Thanks to him, the withdrawal symptoms are reduced and the overall health gets better.
To this opinion reached by scientists from Finland, after having studied the effects of coffee on the human body after a heavy drink. It turns out that coffee reduces the detrimental effects of alcohol on the body. Alcohol increases the level of the liver enzyme gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT), and drinking coffee lowers the level of GGT in the blood.
In the study by Finnish scientists were surveyed 19,000 people of both sexes in the age group from 25 to 74 years. Survey participants were informed about the amount of drink their alcohol and coffee. After this, respondents were measured level of GGT in the blood. The obtained results showed that people who use alcohol and drinking 5 or more cups of coffee daily, the level of gamma-glutamyl transferase was lower by half than people who drank alcohol without further consumption of coffee.
Interestingly, the study found no link between consumption of alcohol and coffee for women. In addition, the method of preparation of this fragrant drink also had no effect on the results.
