Scientists: bacteria can form a primitive "brain"

Researchers from the USA (University of California at San Diego) found that bacteria under certain conditions, form a dense colony, which is similar to the nervous system of animals.

The colony in biological films of bacteria have affinity with the nervous system. Bacteria communicate by electrical impulses and can transmit information from cells to other cells. In addition, the superficial cells have an unlimited access to food. Deep cells get nutrients, when films stop its development.

Scientists have found a similarity between the type of signal transmission in bacteria "spreading cortical depression". This state the person starts the development of epilepsy and migraine.
