The basis for a new drug for the treatment of obesity is a peptide activator pituitary adenylate cyclase (PACAP). This hormone, when injected into the brain tissue reduces food cravings. PACAP - hormone brain is the hypothalamus. The substance determines food cravings and controls the amount of food consumed. Scientists conducted a study on laboratory mice, which were administered PACAP in the area of the brain responsible for fear and appetite.
