Scientists from Canada (University of Vancouver) conducted a study which proved that aerobic exercise makes people smarter. Data were able to establish when examining the effects of physical activity on the brain of the person.
The experiment involved one hundred people, the elderly, everyone was present memory problems. Before the study all had MRI study of brain were measured dimensions of the hippocampus, the brain structures responsible for the processes of memory and remembering.
In the experiment, the volunteers were engaged in aerobics and other types of physical activity twice a week for six months. It turned out that aerobics were given the improving working memory in people from this group increased the size of the hippocampus. In other groups showed no changes.
Scientists advise you not to forget about physical exercises not only the elderly, but the young generation. This will help keep the youth and to protect themselves from chronic diseases.
