Russian and Malaysian scientists to develop a vaccine against Dengue fever

Russian scientists together with Malaysian colleagues began work on a vaccine against Dengue haemorrhagic fever. The development is carried out in the state of Pahang. Russia provides its experience in the field of biotechnology, says ITAR-TASS. To date funded project: initial cost Malaysia will be 80 million dollars.

The vaccine is for a long time. Many countries have tried their best, but progress yet. Russian scientists have proposed to use the methods of genetic engineering.

Paper on the development were signed a number of Russian and Malaysian companies in November 2013. The vaccine is very important for residents of Malaysia: in 2014, the virus managed to hit 14 thousand people, 22 people died.
