Russia plans to ban products with a high content of TRANS fat

The European Union has decided to wage war on TRANS fats. According to "Russian newspaper", in the near future Russia may introduce a ban on the use in the food industry TRANS fat.

Expert Dmitry Magonov notes that in Europe, in order to care for citizens at the state level have long regulated the content of TRANS fats in foods. So, the EU found that their share should not exceed 2-5% per 100 grams.

So, Russia intends to introduce a similar rule to 2021. It should be noted that the Eurasian economic Union (EEU) last year also came to the decision on the establishment of rules limiting the content of TRANS fats in foods 2%.

In fact, the producers themselves determine the share of this type of fats, pledging only to specify this information on the packaging. However, this requirement in practice is observed very rarely.

Experts in the field of medicine emphasize that TRANS fats are contained in foods such as margarine, butter low price category, manufacturing pastries and confectionery. They note that the substance having a devastating effect on the body, killing his cells ability to eliminate toxins and receive nutrients. Thus, people at risk of developing a number of serious diseases, such as coronary heart disease, type II diabetes, atherosclerosis, multiple sclerosis and liver disease.
