Running barefoot is good for brain – scientists

Experts from the University of North Florida recommend that people often run barefoot. This type of physical activity has a positive effect on mental abilities and improves working memory. Running in sneakers such effects has not, says UPI.com.

In total, the study involved 72 people aged 18-44 years. They were offered a 16-minute jog in a free tempo. Periodically under the feet of the volunteers met small items.

Next, subjects underwent tests on the efficiency of working memory. It turned out that running barefoot on a rough surface good for the brain. According to the study, such physical activity improves performance of the brain by 16%. Scientists suggest that when a person runs barefoot, running not only the body but also the nervous system. Because if you do not follow the order of what occurs, you hurt yourself.
