Proper intake of coffee can protect against senile dementia

As scientists found out, the correct mode of drinking coffee can protect the human brain from mild cognitive impairment in old age. To this conclusion they came, after research in which participated 1445 volunteers aged 65 to 84 years.

As you know, caffeine is a great stimulant that increases alertness, improves cognitive performance and alertness. However, up to now, no one even thought about the fact that coffee can have such a positive effect on the brain and act as a means of protection against cognitive impairment.

The study found out that as soon as respondents with normal cognitive status, began to take more for one Cup of coffee per day than in the past, they immediately fall into a risk group. The volunteers who drank one or two cups of coffee a day had a reduced level of risk as opposed to those who would not use this noble drink.

Scientists believe that moderate coffee consumption can lead to a working state adenosine receptors, which, in turn, allows to minimize the negative impact of toxic plaques in the brain. By the way, not so long ago it was found that caffeine also increases insulin sensitivity in type 2 diabetes, and diabetes is directly related to cognitive impairment. Therefore, we can conclude that coffee is able to reduce the level of oxidative processes in the body and reduce inflammation.
