Philosophy helps to cope with stress and mental disorders

The researchers argue that the complex issues related to the creation and the human being improve internal health. The experiment was attended by 307 people. The volunteers were asked how often they ask themselves questions like, "Why are we here?" or "what is the meaning of life?". However, the subjects underwent tests to determine the state of mental health.

Scientists have identified a correlation: the more often people have asked himself difficult questions, the happier and more mentally healthy he was. Avoiding such topics as it turned out, leads to depression and a number of other disorders. That's why experts recommended to think about philosophical themes.

Note, in another study, researchers from Canada found that people often make impulsive purchases when thinking about death. Apparently, shopping on site, helps to improve the self-esteem, albeit for a short time.
