Scientists from Finland have established that pessimism has a negative impact on the overall health of the person. According to the data obtained within the latest study, pessimists optimists are more likely to suffer from diseases of the cardiovascular system. In total, the study involved more than two thousand people aged 52-76 years. For volunteers was observed, which took 11 years. During this time the information was collected about the level of life of the people, their state of mental and physical health, the laboratory parameters of blood.
For 11 years, 121 people died from diseases of the cardiovascular system. In this group there were significantly more people, scientists believed typical pessimists. On average, the high level of pessimism increased the risk of death from heart disease 2.2 times.
