People with depression 6 times more likely to have back problems

Research group of the University of Sydney in one of their recent studies have shown that people who are depressed often suffer from back pain. Scientists tried to figure out what is the cause of the described phenomenon.

The researchers analyzed data from 11 studies with a total of 23 thousand people. It turned out that depression and back pain are caused by a strong bond. According to scientists, pain when the disorder occur 60% more often.

It is possible that back pain induce the development of depression. So far, scientists are not ready to determine the cause of the relationship. More research is needed to understand the phenomenon.
