The problem of the lack of food and the ethical issues of killing animals for meat can be resolved in five years, according to scientists from the Netherlands. Artificial meat "from a test tube" will be in stores very soon. Now comes the testing of technologies for the creation of the product.
First experience in the production of artificial meat was held two years ago. Scientists from Maastricht University in the framework of the experiment created a cutlet from "synthetic beef". Note, the production was extremely expensive. For cooking pieces of meat took more than 300 thousand euros. Then in development were involved in stem cells.
Currently, the researchers are looking for more affordable ways to produce artificial meat. Also in the works is its taste. Scientists suggest the first available samples will appear on supermarket shelves in about five years.
