Researchers have proposed 156 volunteers to watch cartoons with black humor. Then the participants were asked whether they liked the movie and how they appreciate the jokes: good, vulgar or interesting, writes Daily Mail.
Before the study the participants underwent tests for intelligence, emotional stability and aggressiveness. Research has shown that those people who appreciated black humor, better cope with tests for verbal and nonverbal intelligence, and also may indicate a higher level of education of the viewer.
The results of the study showed that in addition to above-average intelligence, the participants, who appreciated black humor, had more advanced cognitive and emotional skills.
