How did you find the Australian scientists from the University of New South Wales most people tend to idealize their appearance, yet others appreciate us act done otherwise than it seems to us. To such conclusions, the staff of the University came during the experiment, which was attended by 130 students.
Each study participant was asked to show 10 pictures, in descending order, starting with the image on which the subject is most similar to himself in real life. After that was done a few additional images and video, allowing the researchers got the most realistic portrait of each student. Then the pictures were shown to strangers, so they put them in the same order as the respondents.
But the sequence built by the people, was completely different. In the opinion of the experimenters it is because we tend to idealize their appearance, which according to statistics at least 7 percent worse than we think.
