People can see infrared light study

Scientists from America, Switzerland and Norway have established that under certain conditions, the human eye detects infrared radiation and interprets it in one of the colors. According to the usual theory is simply impossible: eye perceives wave length from 400 to 720 nanometers, that is visible is stuffy light.

During the experiment, the scientists made a discovery. When two infrared photons are simultaneously on one pigmented protein that is allocated excess chemical energy, forcing to change the response in the brain. As a result the person perceives the invisible light as green, white or any other.

The researchers set up the equipment, thanks to which anyone person can see the invisible infrared light. The device may be useful in ophthalmology.
