Patients who are in hospital at the weekend, die more often than others – statistics

Researchers from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and University College London found that patients who are in hospital at the weekend have an increased risk of dying within one month after hospitalization. In other days the risk of death is slightly lower, reports Zee News.

On Friday night the residents leave for the weekend, usually on one branch remains one duty doctor and nurse. Low attention to the sick from Friday until Monday morning involve additional risk of death in a hospital bed. This is evidenced by statistics.
