Older women with diabetes are at risk for cardiovascular disease

Most of the diseases and pathologies in the human body are interrelated as they affect several organs and systems. On the eve of the research team from Johns Hopkins University conducted a series of studies and found that diabetes in women of advanced age is an additional risk factor for diseases of the cardiovascular system.

Data were collected after analyzing more than ten thousand older women older than 60 years. It should be noted that this study did not take into account additional risk factors: Smoking, alcohol, cholesterol, blood pressure, level of social welfare.

Scientists say that diabetes is depressing effect on the heart and blood vessels. In addition, elevated blood sugar has a toxic effect on the nervous system that can cause a deviation in the psyche in the later stages of the disease.
