A team of scientists from Boston University have proved that low cholesterol has a clear correlation with reduced performance IQ. While the mechanism of open phenomenon, little is known. The researchers publish details of the work done.
The study included 789 men and 1105 women. The volunteers took a test to determine the level of intelligence on the IQ scale. Next, the subjects took a blood test for cholesterol.
When extremely low concentrations of blood cholesterol was observed low levels of intelligence. The difference between the artificially created groups reached 49%. While scientists can't answer about the reasons for this relationship. Perhaps this question will be the subject for future research.
Apparently, cholesterol is involved in the process of memorizing information. However, how this happens is not clear.
