Metabolic disorders can be reversed, if you start to sleep well, experts say. Enough sleep reduces chances of developing diabetes. Scientists from the US conducted an experiment. 19 healthy volunteers four nights in a row slept for 4.5 hours and then slept two days for 10 hours.
Lack of sleep decreased sensitivity of tissues to insulin by 23%. This factor provoked additional production of the hormone. When the volunteers slept, the metabolism in the body gradually come back to normal.
It is believed that a person needs 7-9 hours of sleep a night. Better to go to bed earlier, as early hours of sleep refreshed. Lack of sleep, experts say, leads to heart disease, blood vessels, diabetes and mental disorders.
