Experts from the US found a correlation between regular sleep deprivation and reduced immunity. As it turned out, the duration of sleep has a serious impact on the body's defenses. That is why scientists recommend to sleep at least 8 hours a day.
In total, the experiment involved 14 people. Volunteers were divided into two groups. One was allowed to rest for an unlimited amount of time within two days. The second group was offered within 48 hours to stay awake. The situation created in the second group, corresponds to the everyday life of a workaholic or a student at the session. Indeed, many of us at least once in my life missed a night of sleep.
As it turned out, just one sleepless night reduces the blood levels of T-lymphocytes. These cells determine the human immunity and defending the body against infectious viral agents.
