Almost 20 million rubles will get Kemerovo technological Institute of food industry to develop food products for patients with cancer. The institution won the contest of the Ministry of education and science of the Russian Federation in the category "Living systems". Scientific staff are planning the development of food-based probiotic strains and low molecular weight bioactive peptide complexes.
Biologically active peptides help in the cardiovascular system, they strengthen the immune system, form the intestinal flora, reduce the percentage of pathogenic bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract.
Pre-development schemes and plans to manufacture products for cancer patients took two years. The total project cost to date is 37.2 million rubles, of which 18.6 allocated by the Ministry of education. The project is 12 scientists and numerous auxiliary device in the form of graduate students and undergraduates.
Food for cancer patients will be supplied in the form of a dry mix. In the production of domestic scientists will help the Swedish laboratory. First results will be obtained at the end of 2016.
