Japanese scientists have found why women live longer

Scientists from Japan have established why women live longer than men. It turns out that women's immune system is aging more slowly than men. And thanks to this property, women are more resistant to various diseases. The study of Japanese scientists was conducted among 356 persons of both sexes aged from 20 to 90-years.

During the research work the scientists have been analyzing the blood of volunteers. In the result, it was found that over time both men and women decreases the level of leukocytes in the blood. However, in females with increasing age, the number of b-lymphocytes and T-lymphocytes, and in men, the reverse occurs. Interleukins, which is part of the immune system, decrease in female blood slower than in the male. In addition, the number of red blood cells decreases with age in men.

Professor Katsuhiko Hiroka from the University of medicine and dentistry in Tokyo told that with age in men and women occur entirely different change. For example, the process of reducing the immunological indications in women occurs at a slower rate, and that is why women live longer. According to the Professor, the aging depends on many factors. One of them is the presence of a larger amount of estrogen in a woman's body, which protects the body from menopause and cardiovascular disease. Sex hormones are also important in the immune system, and most important role is played by certain types of lymphocytes. According to scientists, the indices of the immune system allow you to install a real biological age.
