Infants are beginning to think abstractly prior to speaking

The beginnings of abstract thinking in the child appear before conscious speech, say scientists. Small children can not speak, but see similarities and differences when comparing items.

Scientists conducted an experiment. Seven-month-old babies were shown pairs of identical toys. After a short period of time the children were given a couple of different toys. The study analyzed the behavior of children, expression, eyes, facial expression.

A new combination of two different toys were perceived by children more active. This indicates the presence of abstract thinking and the ability to distinguish one object from another. Apparently, on this base in subsequent superimposed the ability to talk and other social skills.
