Scientists from Oxford University conducted a study of the structure of modern human immunodeficiency virus. Over time the virus has changed. As it turned out, the last mutation weakened HIV and made it less dangerous to humans.
Currently, the activity has decreased HIV. Takes much more time, so that after passage of the virus in the human body has developed a chronic syndrome with concomitant diseases: fungal lesions of the lung, colon, staphylococcal infections.
The discovery gives scientists hope to defeat HIV. While the incidence of HIV in developed countries, including Russia, is growing. The lack of modern medicines and the possibility of rapid diagnostics, low standard of living contribute to the development of the disease.
