Graphene has anti-cancer properties - scientists

Experts from the University of Manchester has established a graphene oxide kills stem cells programmed to transform into cancer. The conclusion was made after the test substance in collaboration with six types of cancer. In all cases, the graphene oxide inhibited the proliferation of tumor cells and had no damaging effects on healthy tissue.

Upon successful completion of the test substance can become a part of complex therapy in the treatment of cancer. Now we can say: graphene oxide reduces the size of the tumor and prevents its further growth.

Cancer cells are constantly dividing. The tumor may metastasize and form new tumors in the lymph nodes and other organs. Even after removal of the primary focus there is a chance of relapse because of small metastases. Graphene may help in the prevention of this complication.
