From 16 August every Russian is free to test for HIV

Soon starts the action on anonymous testing of Russian citizens for HIV. The program will work in most major cities of the country with high incidence. The first will connect the Irkutsk region. It noted the disturbing indicators: per 100 000 population, doctors identify more than 1.5 thousand HIV-infected.

The program will last until November. Free and anonymous tests will be available for residents of Kemerovo, Barnaul, Chelyabinsk, Ekaterinburg, Perm, Ufa, Saratov, Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod. In these areas recorded the most unfavorable situation for HIV infection.

To date, the situation with HIV in Russia is comparable with African countries. It takes a lot of effort to overcome the virus. By the way, in Australia managed to do it. In some localities, doctors reported on the almost complete disappearance of new cases of infection.
