Feeding schedule makes kids dumber, and optionally smarter

Scientists have answered the question of mothers on the nutritional status of children, feed them the best on demand, as the food regime inevitably affects the intellectual development of the child.

Scientists from the University of Oxford analysed data on feeding 10 thousand children from birth to age 14 years. They found that children with feeding mode on demand somewhat more intellectually developed than others.

For example, when comparing children at the age of eight IQ children with a regular diet was 5 points lower than children with food if desired. The same is for school grades of children aged 5, 7, and 11 and 14 years.

"Although statistical difference in 5 points of IQ is quite significant, it does not affect the quality of life of the child, although sometimes noticeable, says study author Maria James.

The feeding schedule is often preferred by mothers, as it is practically convenient, since it allows them to regulate the mode and sleep more. But the mother should pay for this intellectual capacities of the child, such a child is definitely not a slacker, but to obtain good estimates he will have more to do than peers with "free" diet.

Scientists are still trying to find out the reason for this surprising development mechanism of the intellect .
