Experts from the Medical school of the University of Washington and Harvard University were able to turn the development of diabetes of the first type around. With the help of new technology, scientists got the stem cells that turn into the pancreas within the beta cells that synthesize insulin.
Diabetes of the first type usually develops in children and adolescents. If the type II diabetes the beta cells are present, but reduced tissue sensitivity to insulin, the first type of the dying beta cells. The result is an absolute deficiency of insulin. The only way out for such people – daily injections of insulin.
Now there is hope for complete cure of patients with diabetes first type. Experiments on laboratory mice proved the efficiency of the method. Now it is planned to conduct additional experiments to study the effects of stem cells on the course of the disease.
