A group of scientists from the Australian Institute of pediatric Oncology, opened a drug with high activity against neuroblastoma. This type of cancer most often develops in children and is associated with damage to the nervous system. In most cases the tumor can be diagnosed at late stages, when help can be very difficult, says Zee News.
Experimental drug CBL01371, scientists believe, can reverse the relationship to neuroblastoma in medicine. The medicine stops the process of tumor growth. Now undergoing clinical trials of the drug on adult patients with cancer.
Scientists suggest CBL01371 combination with traditional chemotherapy will increase efficacy of therapy several times. This will give patients a better chance at a long and happy life without cancer.
