Swedish scientists have found that children born during severe epidemics, have more stable and perfect immunity. In some cases they are protected from most of the diseases that journalists write from the publication PLoS ONE.
The findings were installed after analyzing data on epidemics and health status of children. In particular, there has been studied an epidemic of measles and smallpox (Quebec, 18th century).
Scientists have found an interesting fact. It turned out that children born during the epidemic period, had a greater life expectancy than other people of that era. In addition, among the diseases met quite rare.
It is believed that parents who have had the disease, immune, which can be transmitted to the child. As a result, the fetus receives initial protection against some infections and improved operation of the barrier system of the body.
